Building a strong foundation for the future

Established in 1989, Triple Care Farm is an accredited drug and alcohol treatment program for young people, aged between 16 and 24. Located in a rural setting, the farm provides a sanctuary for young people with mental health, substance use and behavioral issues to combat their drug & alcohol dependencies.

Triple Care Farm works to address the issues that are impacting on their ability to lead positive, fulfilling lives and to rebuild relationships with their family, friends and their community. Running for 12 weeks, each program integrates individual case management with one-on-one, group and family counselling to address the underlying issues of substance abuse and mental illness. Clients also participate in vocational education and training, literacy and numeracy classes, job-ready programs and recreational activities.

The only program of its kind in the country, Triple Care Farm achieves amazing transformations in young Australians facing very complex issues. All of the young people that participate in the program suffer from some sort of drug or alcohol issues;

• 90% are unemployed; and on average, have only completed education to year 8.
• 3 in every 4 also struggle with mental health issues and many have a history of family breakdown, abuse or homelessness.

Triple Care Farm helps young Australians to overcome their drug and alcohol issues, build self-confidence and improve their health and wellbeing.

Upon completion of the program,

• 92% of clients found and maintained stable accommodation
• 60% went on to employment or further education or training.

So effective is Triple Care Farm’s approach, it won the prestigious award for Excellence in Services for Young People at the National Drug and Alcohol Awards in 2009.

The award, which recognises dedication and innovation within the drug and alcohol sector, is testament to the real and lasting change Triple Care Farm achieves in young Australians in crisis.
