Mission Australia is once again inviting Melbourne's business community to join our CEO, Toby Hall, and Aboriginal leaders for a night of reconciliation through dining.

To be held on 25 May 2011, the second Taste of Reconciliation Dinner is a chance for Melbourne's business community to celebrate Aboriginal culture, discuss ways to provide real opportunities for Aboriginal Australians and sample the native flavours of Charcoal Lane - our social enterprise restaurant in Fitzroy.

This event follows the success of last year's inaugural Taste of Reconciliation Dinner, which aimed to foster mutual respect between Indigenous people and their fellow Australians.

Significantly, this unmissable corporate dinner is once again being held on the eve of Reconciliation Week.

By enjoying this evening of great food, company and music, businesses will also be supporting Mission Australia's Charcoal Lane. This innovative restaurant provides opportunities for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal young people who have struggled to find lasting employment.

In partnership with the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service, William Angliss Institute of TAFE, the Victorian Government and Apprenticeships Plus, Mission Australia provides these young people with a real work environment that incorporates accredited training and personal skills development. Proceeds from this year's Taste of Reconciliation Dinner will go towards this inspiring and effective program that enables young people to carve out a sustainable career.
