This event, the third Taste of Reconciliation Dinner, is a chance for businesspeople to celebrate Aboriginal culture and discuss ways to provide real opportunities for all Australians while enjoying the native flavours of Charcoal Lane – Mission Australia’s social enterprise restaurant in Fitzroy.
Aboriginal community leaders will once again host tables at this Reconciliation Week event.
This year Mission Australia is proud to present Australian music icon Archie Roach at our Taste of Reconciliation event, so it’s sure to be a night to remember.
Help us to give young people a start
By enjoying this evening of great food, company and music, businesses will also be supporting Mission Australia's Charcoal Lane. This innovative restaurant has a comprehensive training and support program for Indigenous young people with barriers to sustainable mainstream employment.
Mission Australia has partnered with the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS),
William Angliss Institute of TAFE and the Victorian Government to provide a real work environment that incorporates accredited training and “wrap-around” supports to young people who have experienced barriers to employment.
Our links with VAHS also provide a charter to support Indigenous youth.
